2025 Resolutions, No, I Mean Goals

New Year, New You! What a load of nonsense. There are LOADS of things I want to do in 2025, but I prefer to consider them goals rather than resolutions. Resolutions are too easily disregarded by the end of (January, I hope) the week (more likely). Is that just semantics, am I splitting hairs? Or is there real value in distinguishing between resolutions and goals? As a self-proclaimed wordsmith, I say yes. Even though it’s my own hang up with the word ‘resolution’ that actually has nothing to do with that poor word at all.

So, in the spirit of accountability, and you, my readers, finding yourselves as my unwitting accountability partners (TAG! You’re it!), here are some of my goals for 2025:

  • I will write a blog a week for the rest of the year. I hope they’re good, for both of our sakes!

  • I will take time for exercise and to take care of myself. Even and especially when I don’t want to.

  • I will do better to engage with the world around me and the people in it. I know that sounds very squishy (and it is) so here’s what I mean by that. As an introvert, it’s easier for me to be quiet than loud or think versus talk. So I plan to reach out to at least 5 people per week. You heard it here!

  • I’ll let you all know how I’m doing once a quarter.

Thanks for being my accountability partners!
