Q1 Check In on 2025 Goals

Back in January I gave myself some goals for the year and promised to check in with you quarterly to give an update. I set out 3 things I hoped to accomplish this year, and am pushing myself waaaaayyyyy out of my comfort zone to tell you all about them publicly. Darn accountability!

Here are my goals and how things have gone the first 3 months of the year:

  • I promised to write a blog a week for the rest of the year. Q1 grade - A+ I haven’t missed a week yet (!), which is nothing short of miraculous because I still don’t have a good routine to write these at a consistent time. I’ll add that to my Q2 goals….

  • I said I would take time for exercise and to take care of myself. Ummmm, Q1 grade - C I’ve kinda done this but could definitely do better. Decidedly average.

  • I also aimed to do better engaging with people, which is another “pushing out of the comfort zone” goal because I am an introvert. Because I am also a nerd, that was not a good enough goal so to quantify it I decided I’d reach out to at least 5 people per week. Q1 grade - unknown It’s very difficult to give myself a Q1 grade because I gave myself a goal with no way to measure it. I’m not really sure how I’ve done so far, if I’m honest. It’s been a doozy of a year already. Some weeks have been FULL of people and others, not so much.  I think I’ll have to add a sub-goal of giving myself a way to judge how I’m doing here and have a better report next time.

Now, at the beginning of Q2, I’m excited to continue working on and refining these goals to do a better job of achieving them. Accountability is tough, but it’s also rewarding to see progress and identify areas for improvement. Here’s to getting straight As next quarter! I’ll report back again in 3 months.
